I like the personification of 'Patience' here and how you can interpret this quite literally and metaphorically there... it would be quite interesting if there was a person named Patience who is laughing and all. o.O
It's as if Patience is mocking these people... as if Patience is leaving the people, perhaps? It depends on how you interpret it, I guess.
I feel that the first two words are a bit unnecessary, but it does help ground this piece I guess.
